Pipedream WooCommerce steps in n8n

Updated 2026-10-21 · 2 min read · n8n: WooCommerce (Native n8n node)

WooCommerce workflows on Pipedream react to orders: a new order goes to Slack, a fulfilment tool or an accounting app, a status change emails the customer. n8n has a native WooCommerce node and a WooCommerce Trigger, so both ends map directly.

The n8n side

WooCommerce node (n8n-nodes-base.wooCommerce):

Resource Operations
Customer Create, Delete, Get, Get Many, Update
Order Create, Delete, Get, Get Many, Update
Product Create, Delete, Get, Get Many, Update

WooCommerce Trigger (webhook): coupon.*, customer.*, order.*, product.*, each with created, updated, deleted.

What maps where

Pipedream (app woocommerce) In n8n Status
Create Order Order → Create manual
Get Order, List Orders Order → Get / Get Many manual
Update Order Status Order → Update (Status) manual
Create Product, Update Product Product → Create / Update manual
Create Customer Customer → Create manual
Create Refund HTTP Request → POST /wp-json/wc/v3/orders/{id}/refunds manual
New Order Event (Instant) WooCommerce Trigger, order.created / order.updated manual
New Product Event (Instant) WooCommerce Trigger, product events manual
New Customer Event (Instant), New Coupon Event (Instant) WooCommerce Trigger, customer / coupon events manual

WooCommerce is not in the converter's mapped list. Each step arrives as a placeholder with its props in a comment; Pipedream's Instant sources often let you pick several events, and in n8n that is one trigger per event or a trigger plus a filter.

WooCommerce credentials in n8n

WooCommerce API credential: Consumer Key, Consumer Secret and WooCommerce URL. Create the key in WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API with Read/Write permission. Permalinks must not be set to Plain, or the REST API routes do not resolve. If you get "Consumer key is missing", enable Include Credentials in Query.

Typical migration: paid order to accounting

Pipedream: WooCommerce New Order Event (Instant) → filter status processing → QuickBooks create sales receipt → Slack message. n8n: WooCommerce Trigger (order.updated) → If {{ $json.status }} = processing → QuickBooks → create → Slack → Message → Send. Using order.updated instead of order.created catches payments that complete after checkout.

WooCommerce migration pitfalls

  • Duplicate deliveries. WooCommerce can fire order.updated several times during checkout (status, payment, stock). Deduplicate on order ID and status with Remove Duplicates.
  • Leftover webhooks. Pipedream's webhooks stay in WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Webhooks; disable them after switching.
  • Webhook signature. WooCommerce signs payloads with a secret; n8n's trigger handles registration, but custom Webhook nodes must check X-WC-Webhook-Signature themselves.
  • Hosting limits. Shared hosts often throttle the REST API or block requests by security plugins; whitelist n8n's IP if calls fail with 401 or 403.

FAQ

Which events does the WooCommerce Trigger support?
Created, updated and deleted for coupons, customers, orders and products: twelve events such as order.created and product.updated. n8n registers the webhook in WooCommerce.
What does "Consumer key is missing" mean?
The server dropped the Authorization header over SSL. Turn on Include Credentials in Query in the n8n WooCommerce credential.
How do I create a refund in n8n?
The node covers Customer, Order and Product. Pipedream's Create Refund becomes an HTTP Request to /wp-json/wc/v3/orders/{id}/refunds with the WooCommerce credential.
Do WooCommerce steps convert automatically?
No. They arrive as placeholders with their props (order ID, status, line items), and the trigger as a Manual Trigger naming the source.
